The Central Coast Heart has announced their final selections for the Opens team to compete in the inaugural NSW Premier League Netball competition commencing in 2016.
The number of athletes who trialled on Sunday 23rd August and the calibre of talent was impressive. The selection committee included former Australian Diamond and Central Coast local Alison Broadbent, emerging elite coach Amber Cross, Head Coach of the Opens Team and former NSW Swift player Nerida Stewart, who has been appointed Head Coach of the Central Coast Heart’s Under 20 team.
“We’re excited to field a strong team in the augural Premier League competition”, said Amber.
Eleven players have signed to represent The Central Coast Heart in the Opens team, with potentially more signings to come. The Opens team currently includes:
The line-up includes five players who have come through the Central Coast Academy of Sport program including Lauren Moore, who is also a NSW Swifts rostered player for 2016. Kristen Kessler is Captain of the 2015 U17 NSW State Team and current NSW Institute of Sport Netball Scholarship holder, whilst Jacklyn Lahari is a Papua New Guinea National Team member who recently competed at the 2015 Pacific Games.
